DESCRIPTION

  • 5.5 hours per week (home based and mostly flexible)
  • 10 seats on council. St Ewe PC is a member of CALC. Clerk is a member of SLCC.
  • Regular meetings every 2 months: Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep & Nov on 2nd Monday of month
  • Occasional extraordinary meetings if urgent planning (or other matters) dictate
  • Rural parish – small hamlets and individual farmsteads
  • Supportive and engaged community
  • Turnover £12K. Annual precept £7.5K with local tax base of 268.96
  • Assets are two notice boards and two red telephone kiosks. No coastline
  • Currently engaged in LMP agreement and verge grass cutting Agency Agreement
  • Meetings held in St Ewe Village Hall PL26 6EY
  • Starting at NJC point 13 (£14.60/hr) dependent on candidate experience
  • Home office allowance of £6/week
  • Travelling expenses paid at 45p/mile
  • Laptop provided. Stationery and equipment costs reimbursed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Sound, efficient and intelligent administration
  • Confidence when dealing with outside agencies especially Cornwall Council essential
  • Friendly, open and approachable attitude to parishioners and public
  • High standard of detailed and balanced minute taking expected
  • Meticulous accounting, using receipts and payments reporting
  • Adherence to Transparency Code and website accessibility requirements on the council’s WordPress website
  • Facebook page used as public notice board: St Ewe Parish Council
  • CiLCA, or willingness to train
